However, I must admit that early on, I struggled with work-life balance as a wife and a mother of two. I found myself spending the majority of my days away from my kids, and this realization led to a sense of increasing guilt. On the other hand, I realized that the same strengths that made me a good mother, traits such as compassion, creativity, quick thinking, and the ability to multitask, were also valuable in my professional life.
But I held a limiting belief that I could not have it all—that I would have to make a choice between either my career or my family. Eventually, I realized this belief was simply wrong: the key is to find the right balance and learn how to manage both! In addition, I realized that the skills I possessed from the corporate world—skills like planning, active listening, self-management, prioritizing, storytelling, and coaching—could be used at home as well, the result being a more fulfilling life all around.
I decided to make use of this knowledge and dedicate my time to helping professionals align who they are with what they want to achieve in their careers.
